Affordable Home Carpet Cleaning

As a veteran owner of a carpet and upholstery cleaning business, many people tell my that they are trying to save money on their carpet cleaning. They need their carpet cleaned and want to pay a fair price. They will use phrases like “that’s large chuck of money” or “exorbitant.” More bonuses?

I tell them all carpet cleaners don’t work the same. There are good and terrible ones and “you get for what you pay.” I attempt to offer them information that will help them to reevaluate their conclusions.

It’s crucial to first understand carpet.

Wall-to–wall carpet is often made from nylon, polypropylene, or wool. The backing shouldn’t be cleaned and should not get wet during carpet cleaning. Carpet manufacturers recommend that our carpets be professionally cleaned at least once every two years, and only by an IICRC Certified business (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). Carpets are fully warranted for approximately seven to seven years, depending upon the terms of the warranty.

Carpet cleaning costs around three to five hundred dollars for a home every one to two decades, depending on how often you vacuum. It costs about ten to 20 times more to replace carpet.

Let’s not be so fixated on getting the lowest price.

Here are some things people shared with us about their experiences hiring “bargain carpet cleaners”.

-The company has no reliable, well-maintained equipment and, if the equipment fails or is damaged in some cases, the carpet will be replaced.

The company sends people who aren’t attractive and look bad to their employees.

-The company sends English speaking employees.

The company sends employees with an attitude.

-The company never appears. This is often true for smaller jobs. But if they are given a larger job they will “blow off” you.

-The carpet will dry slowly. It can take up to days. By then, there will be water marks on the carpet and a strong odor (mildew).

-The company sends employees who don’t honor the original quote received over the phone, and they want to charge more for a full “deep” cleaning. This is called “Bait and Switch.”

All carpet cleaning jobs must be “deep” cleaned.

There are two methods to clean carpets. Every carpet cleaning job should include thorough cleaning, with all preconditioning. This will result in a complete and clean carpet. The result will be thorough and without any return spots. You won’t even need it for another year.
